Wilson's Portrait

I am a student currently studying Information Technology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Ever since I was a kid, I loved video games. It is no surprise that I eventually stumbled upon the world of game development. From here, I learned to use Game Maker: Studio, before eventually moving on to Unity3D where I would develop small games for years to come. As of now, I am still an avid game developer in Unity and I have started to learn web development as well. I am also taking courses to develop my art skills so I can draw graphics and create 3D models I want for my games. I am a fast learner and I love learning new technologies. When it comes to learning new disciplines, I am very enthusiastic to say the least. I don't shy away from difficult problems.

As of now, here is what I can provide you:

My main area of expertise is Unity. I have over 2 years of experience with the program and I am proficient at creating 2D games and UI using Unity's uGUI system. I can also create editor tools as well. In Unity, I don't use Unityscript, only C#. I've also took the liberty to learn C# the "proper" way, through tradition instruction and books. Due to this, I don't suffering from bad habits or coding the "Unity way" as many others do.

I've also learned a little bit about unit testing and test-driven development. I have a bit of experience using NUnit, though I haven't done anything quite substantial as of now.

Finally, I have also started to learn web development as well. As of now, I am a proficient front-end developer. I can create responsive and flexible webpages to suit many needs. I have experience using Bootstrap and Jekyll, since I had to learn them to create this very website. As for back-end, I'm currently putting my effort towards learning that.
